A Luminous Tribute: An Immersive Celebration of Heritage

OtherHalf Studio proudly presents the multi-award winning OH!Tenang : Cerita Bayang-Bayang for the 2nd year, a breathtaking fusion of art, design, culture and sustainability. Located at Mini Cube, 2nd Floor at Mano Plus, this immersive experience runs from 28 December 2024 to 12 January 2025. Step into a world where tradition is illuminated, inviting visitors to explore Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage in a contemporary light.

At the heart of this event lies a life-sized lantern, built sustainably with bamboo frames and adorned with indigo hand-dyed fabric, draped with translucent ornaments floating in the space, it symbolizes the timeless interplay of light and shadow. This ethereal creation invites visitors to explore stories brought to life through its luminous glow, dancing shadows, and the symphony of bespoke scents that infuse the space. It is both a tribute to Malaysia’s artistic heritage and a celebration of contemporary creativity. The experience is brought to life through a unique soundscape by Ashwin Gobinath from Nadir Music Studios, a longtime collaborator and dear friend, complemented by bespoke scents from Studio Kozé. This sensory synergy, along with dynamic visuals, transforms the
installation into a living artwork that engages and enchants, inviting all to immerse themselves in its atmosphere.

Mark your calendars for an array of events designed to celebrate and connect with cultural heritage. Starting from December 28, 2024, experience the magic of a traditional Wayang Kulit performance, followed by a hands-on Wau-making workshop where participants can create their very own traditional kite.
In January, join us on a serene Poetry and Tea session, blending the art of multilingual poetry with the warmth of a tea gathering. Additionally, in collaboration with Banbankia, we are hosting a guided tour and signage exhibition, offering a closer look at the artistry behind the
installation and an opportunity to engage with its stories.
